Vesty and Paul Enea formed Appian Construction Company, Inc. in 1991 with the intent to develop to quality, single family homes in Contra Costa and neighboring communities. They believed that a strong market for individual premium homes did, indeed, exist in the upper scale areas that would include Blackhawk, Danville, Walnut Creek, Concord, Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda.

The Enea insight has proved fruitful in that Appian Homes, Inc. has successfully completed and sold approximately 30 private homes in the areas of their choice since merging their professional interests in 1991.

Both lifelong residents of Contra Costa, and both educated in private schools and graduates of Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Vesty and Paul are well acquainted with the desired lifestyles, educational facilities, community services and social aspects of the area. They began their very successful land development and construction of single family homes by carefully selecting prime sites within established neighborhoods and offering both custom and speculative private homes.

Though Vesty and Paul work in tandem to see that each project is started on schedule and that work progresses on a timely basis and completed to the satisfaction of their clients and themselves, each brother has his own primary area of responsibilities. Vesty, who is licensed by the State of California Real Estate Department, generally manages the preliminary functions related to research, development, finance, marketing and sales. Paul supervises the on-site operations, customer service, bidding and subcontracting, and hands-on supervision and coordination from the point of site development through completion of the projects.
